The North Shore is a popular Minnesota day tripping location, for such good reason! There's hundreds of nature nooks and crannies along this beautiful coast to be discovered.
Our fam recently took a day trip up to gorgeous Grand Marais. This quaint little town is a couple hour drive from Duluth and filled with the best local shops, eats, and outdoor adventure spots.
Here's some highlights from our day spent up North!
-A quick stop at Fika Coffee is always a must! This Scandinavian inspired coffee shop in Lutsen is super adorable, roasts beans in house, and creates some of the best lattes around. I highly recommend their oat milk cardamom latte- so so good!
- Lunch at Voyageur Brewing! This brewery has a cozy family friendly atmosphere and awesome brews, too. The Angry Trout and The Fishermans Daughter are great lunch spots as well!
- Local shopping, of course! Some of our Grand Marais faves are The Big Lake Life, Upstate Minnesota, and North Country Cottages (open seasonally).
- Take a hike! With the deep snow in late March this year, we picked a quicker, easily accessible trail and hiked the George Washington Pines just a bit up the Gunflint Trail. The pines on this trail are incredible- highly recommend for your skiing or hiking adventures.
Grand Marais is a grand adventure choice for a day trip or an entire vacay. Pack in the fam and the hiking shoes and enjoy!
Happy adventuring,
Sara
