Great inspiration leads to great art.
Minnesota has so many beautiful places, from the prairies of southern MN, to the pine forests of the upper northwest, to the great north shore of Lake Superior. Inspiration can be found all around, which is why it makes sense that Minnesota is home to some pretty talented artists. We feel lucky enough to have so many of them featured in our little shop. Some of our makers, as well as others around the state spend their summers showing their makings at the many shows across the great state of Minnesota.

Park Point Art Fair - June 24-25 Duluth
Duluth's Park Point Art Fair celebrated its 50th year last summer. This art fair was started by local Park Point artists as a small sale at Park Point’s Lafayette Community Center and now has grown to be one of the biggest art shows in Duluth with over 120 juried artists.

Minnehaha Falls Art Fair - July 14-16 Mpls
The Twin Cities has been a hub for artists for years. Minnehaha Falls Art Fair had its first year back in 2019 and has been a hit ever since. With over 150 artists booths you can find a variety of goods from ceramics, visual art, jewelry, leather goods and more at this zero-waste event.

Grand Marais Art Festival - July 8-9, Grand Marais
People come from far and wide to visit beautiful Grand Marais, and what better time to visit than during the Grand Marais Art Festival. This year Grand Marais Art Colony will be hosting the 32nd annual art fair, with over 75 juried artists.
This show is all about uplifting the community, and demonstrating just how important handcrafted art can be.

Ruby Dammann has been with North and Shore since the Makers Mercantile mobile camper days. She also is the maker behind Little Leaf Goods jewelry. Ruby grew up in St.Paul and moved up to Duluth for school (go bulldogs), fell in love with Lake Superior, and just hasn't been able to leave since. When she isn't in the store or making earrings she loves to get outside and go camping with her wife Marcy and dog Onni.
