Duluth Brewery Tour
Duluth has so much to offer: miles of hiking trails, beautiful shoreline, and an amazing community of people.
But do you know what else Duluth has? Beer!
One of the best things about this city is the amazing selection of craft beer found throughout the city.
From end to end, you will have no trouble finding a place to sit, relax, and enjoy a cold one after a day of adventuring the North Shore. Here are some of the best options for taming your thirst this summer:
LINCOLN PARK
Offering an array of wood fired pizza, live music, and styles of beer (including root beer) there is something for everyone in the family. If you're looking for a brew, I highly recommend trying the Agate Hunter!
They are in the process of expanding their indoor seating space but have a patio that is unmatched in the area. Sit in the shade under a fan and listen to some local musicians on a hot day or cozy up with friends around one of their many fires on cool summer evenings. Ursa will not disappoint any time of the year!

Bent Paddle Brewing Company is one of the mainstay breweries of the area. Having just celebrated their 10th birthday, Bent Paddle continues to make great beer day in and day out. Located in Duluth's Lincoln Park Craft District (yep, right across the street from us!) this brewery is on so many people's bucket list and we know why! Family friendly with an assortment of tables and classic games like darts and foosball as well as a wide selection of board games, everyone in the family is bound to find something fun to do. They have a large patio and even larger outside grassy area filled with tables and even a stage where you can often catch local musicians. You can often find food trucks parked up right outside their door, plus they allow outside food in- with so many amazing places just a block away you can't go wrong.
CANAL PARK
For those staying in or wanting to venture down to Canal Park, don't worry, there is great beer there as well!
▲
Hoops Brewing is inside only but don’t let that fool you, this place is the place to be. They have a bunch of games and even let you bring in outside food- which with their location means so many amazing options.
A great stop and a local favorite for sure! Be sure to try the No 325 Chili Pepper Ale if you are feeling adventurous.

Located along Duluth's lake-walk, this brewery has great indoor and outdoor seating.
This place isn't just known for their award winning beer but also for their food. They have a full menu and with a view of the lake you can't beat it!

DOWNTOWN
This brewery doesn't just have beer but recently have put out their own line of canned craft cocktails. Don't just come here for the drinks, because besides their indoor taproom, they have axe throwing! Blacklist loves being the background of your parties and gatherings, plus what could be more fun than throwing axes, safely, of course!
Fitger's Brewhouse is located in the downtown Fitger's complex and is not only a brewery but a restaurant as well. This brewery has been around Duluth since 1995 and is a well-loved go-to for great drinks and delicious food! If you check out this spot make sure to take some extra time and walk around all the cute shops in the Fitger's building.
LAKESIDE
This Duluth staple had suddenly closed its doors back in 2019 but the new owners have brought it back and relocated over to Duluth’s Lakeside, Lester park neighborhood. Lake Superior Brewing isn't just a brewery but now also has an amazing restaurant, a full bar and even a brewtel where you can stay.
Although this brewery isn't back up to brewing beer quite yet they have amazing food in a great atmosphere. Beer lovers don't fret, they have a wide array of Duluth's best brews on tap until they get up and running once again. This is a new must see if you haven't been yet.
SUPERIOR
Earth Rider Beer Okay, so it might not be in Duluth, but Earth Rider is located right over the bridge. It is a great one to check out!
Their taproom, the Cedar Lounge, is a great little bar that has live music. A bunch of great Duluth musicians having had residences here over the years. You can often catch Charlie Parr playing here from time to time.
Right outside of the cedar lounge is their amazing outdoor patio- this place is big! Which makes it perfect for large groups or kids. They also put up a stage in the summers and host lots of bands. They even have a summer market with local makers and vendors the first Saturday of the month.
This brewery is a local favorite not just for all the reasons listed above but also because they don’t mess around when it comes to making good beer!
Breweries not your thing, how about cider?
Duluth is also home to some amazing Cideries!
▲
Offering indoor and outdoor seating. Wild State always has something fun lined up for their customers to enjoy like fire pits in the summer and even curling in the winters. They also are home to Camp Creemee soft serve ice cream. What could be better!
▲
Duluth Cider is located right down the street and has indoor and outdoor seating. Live music is always happening and they host a good rotation of food trucks.
Duluth is an amazing city and we feel proud of the businesses that have decided to call this place home. Check some new breweries on your next North Shore adventure and find your new favorite spot for the summer!
Cheers to Adventure,
Ruby
