Hello, Olivia here, the person behind our social media here at North + Shore–
Join my best friend and I as we take a day trip up the shore - making a few stops along the way and trying some delicious seasonal coffee drinks at some North & Shore’s favorite coffee shops.
I highly recommend adding this day trip to your bucket list to do in the cold months on the North Shore of Minnesota.
Java Moose - Grand Marais, MN
Fika Coffee - Lutsen, MN
Timber Coffee Co.- Silver Bay, MN
Cedar Coffee Co.- Two Harbors, MN
White Pine Market- Two Harbors, MN
Amity- Duluth, MN
Duluth Coffee Co. - Duluth, MN
Amazing Grace Cafe- Duluth, MN
Dream Cloud Coffee Roasters- Duluth, MN
Dunn Brothers Coffee – Duluth,MN
Yellow Bike Coffee - Duluth, MN
190 Coffee + Tea- Duluth,MN
Portage Coffee Camper- Mobile - Duluth,MN
Not only is this a great excuse to find new local favorites, but as someone who works partly outside the shop, I love to find those coffee shops that are quiet and great for getting some creative work done.
Just a little over a half hour from our shop in Duluth you’ll find a simplistic woodsy escape with some yummy coffee in Two Harbors, MN.  We tried out their Cardamom Latte + Almond Latte – I preferred the almond. Grab a delicious cup of coffee, sit inside or venture back to their adorable set up in the cedar trees. A perfect quiet place to be away from the hustle.
Just up Superior Street on the east side  - about 10 minutes away from our shop - you’ll park up the block and walk inside to this adorable tiny coffee place with good tunes & friendly staff. I had to try a Pumpkin Spice Latte, a classic for the season! A go-to favorite of ours is a White Chocolate Breve, and I must say, Amity has one of the best I’ve had in a long time. But a highlight at this cute plant crazed and music loving coffee shop, was their “Chaider”, a Chai Apple Cider- it was my first time trying this concoction and it sounded intriguing. It paid off being my favorite of the day.
Right down the street just a 6 minute drive up West Superior Street you’ll find a Duluth staple - Duluth Coffee Company. It's in the bustle of downtown, but once you step inside it’s a coffee sanctuary. You’ll come for the delicious coffee, and keep on staying after the mug is empty because of the delicious smell of roasting coffee beans. They have just celebrated a decade of roasting coffee with a mission of doing good for the community. Swing in to show some local love and try their seasonal drink, Caramel Cardamom Latte, delicious!
Having these folks as building buddies is just lucky! 190 is located right across the way in Enger Lofts. (Suite 103) Less than 40 feet away from our storefront, you will find this a hopping coffee place. Their friendliness, delicious recipes, and house made ingredients spoil you and they will never disappoint.
I will forever love their specialty maple and ginger drink, “The North Shore”, that was created specifically for our grand opening. Ginger… in coffee? Yes please! Maybe it was just me, but maple and ginger in my coffee have become a staple to my mornings. And to celebrate the spooky season, their newest drink, the “Trick or Treat” - a delicious beverage that incorporates their house-made vanilla - is definitely a treat with no tricks!

I’m sure in the cold months I'll be making my way to check out some of the others, because I will never turn down a road trip with cozy coffee shops.
Sip + Savor The Adventure,
Olivia
